Dear friends and family,
To any of you who do not know, I have embarked on a spiritual journey. I returned to the camp I worked at this summer( Bair Lake Bible Camp ) I am an a outfitter! Outfitters is a discipleship program run by a wonderful couple who live on the campus. I will be at camp for a year and a half. After that I plan on returning to school to fulfill my dream job as an O.T.A.(Occupational Therapists Assistant). I am embarking on this journey to learn more about the Lord Jesus Christ and to learn how to share the gospel with others. I plan to consider my future job as my mission field.I believe this program will be a stepping stone in the right direction.
This month the main focus was Apologetics. I have learned about the Trinity, we learned from the speaker LT. Jeyachondran that sometimes the Trinity is misrepresented. I was able to better understand the Trinity LT. described the Trinity as One being who exists in three Persons, one WHAT and three WHOS, or one essence and three persons.
Each month there is a different book to go along with what we are studying. This months book was Letters from a Skeptic written my Dr. Boyd and his father. It was challenging to read but also very interesting. I never knew one person could have so many detailed questions about the bible. The caring, kind persistence and patience of the son to answer such questions over such a long period of time impressed me greatly.
I have also been learning how to work the zipline, climbing tower and the stand (these are the Adventure Challenge Education, ACE, activities at camp). With a lot of practice I have succesfuly learned how to tie the Super 8 knot.YAY!!
I hope you are all doing well. You are in my thoughts and prayers.
Lots of love: Carissa.
